And while he tends to be a pretty early riser, it isn't the case today. Maybe since his life has flipped around so much. There's no longer the need to get up early, because there isn't a world out there waiting for him to save it. There are no people dying just because he decided to sleep for five minutes longer. And within the comfort and warmth of Roland's bed, it's really hard to want to wake up, anyway. Even as Roland shifts on the bed, kisses Inigo's head and leaves the room, the boy doesn't really notice any of it. He's still far gone, all the way off in dreamland. And not the nightmares that he's had before, no. This is a comfortable sleep, filled with warm dreams.
.. warm dreams that slowly start to fade when they're interrupted by a sudden clang. It's distant enough to not be any immediate danger, but there's an instinct to Inigo that makes him sit up in bed right away, rigid, at attention. Ready to jump into battle at a moment's notice, despite his sword being safely stored away in his own room, rather than being here with him in Roland's room.
His heart races, but he tries to tell himself it's probably nothing serious. There's no Risen in this world. No monsters. And there's that sweet, sweet scent-- everything is okay. Everything is okay. He repeats it in his head, like a mantra.
And that's when he slowly starts climbing out of bed. Not even bothering to change out of his cute bear pyjamas, Inigo starts wandering over in the direction of the smell..
The kitchen. Figures.
He peeks his head in first, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes.
".. Father, is everything alright here?"
Look, he may be a sleepy boy, but he is totally ready to fight off a robber if that's what's happening here. Just be glad he got over his paranoia just enough to not sneak down with a sword in hand - something he definitely would have done during one of his very first days here in this sort of situation.
